Answer to Question of the Week #2
Here are the results for Question of the Week #2. Thanks for your participation!
What hit an all-time low last year?
a. American popular culture (9%)
b. The number of federal civil trials (8%)
c. The number of EEOC charge filings (45%)
d. HR professionals who are satisfied with their career choice (39%)
The correct answer is “b.”
As shocking as it may seem, the number of federal jury trials hit an all-time low last year. While case filings show no sign of slowing, more and more cases are settling or heading to litigation alternatives like arbitration and mediation. Federal judges are also clearing their dockets more aggressively so that they can have more time for fishing.
For the record, American popular culture officially hit its all-time low in 1981, the year that Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and Justin Timberlake all were born.
As for “d,” we fail to see how anyone could be anything other than absolutely thrilled with HR as a career choice.
