New Poll: Dress Code Blues
Few things have a higher propensity to induce workplace riots than attempts by employers to regulate fashion.
Companies are all over the map on the issue. Some have no dress code. Others have a detailed multi-page code that would make any lawyer proud. Some are going more casual. Some are going more professional.
And even if you have a code there’s always the issue of enforcement. Some employees seem to delight in finding creative exceptions to the rules. Check your own code right now: Would it bar an employee from showing up in a bathrobe, snorkel, chaps, spurs and a beanie with a propeller on top?
We’d like to get your opinion on dress codes. Please vote in the new poll posted on the right side of the blawg.
Once the poll’s concluded, we’ll pass along our patented sure-fire can’t-miss tips on how to excel at being the fashion police.
