Bob Barker a Monster?
Bob Barker is in the employment law spotlight once again.
The former Price is Right host is being sued by Deborah Curling, a woman who worked for the show for more than two decades. She alleges that Barker and the show’s producers retaliated against her after she testified against Barker in a lawsuit brought by another employee.
Curling says that Barker “made it his life mission to destroy the livelihood of every person who contradicted him or did not do what Barker had ordered him/her to do.” She claims that after she testified she was subjected to racial discrimination and physical threats and demoted to an “intolerable” job.
Barker has faced other allegations in the past. In 1993, Price is Right model Dian Parkinson filed an $8 million sexual harassment suit against him. Barker admitted a relationship with Parkinson and she dropped the suit.
Another Price is Right model, Holly Hallstrom, alleged that she was fired for not losing enough weight. Barker sued her for defamation and Hallstrom filed a counterclaim. In 2004, a court ruled in Hallstrom’s favor and Barker settled for $3 million.
Also, Barker beat up Adam Sandler in a movie once. Sandler didn’t sue.
