The votes are in on our Funniest/Dumbest Workplace Story Contest.  With a whopping 46% of the vote, the winner of a DVD set of Seasons 1-3 of The Office and a $100 Starbucks gift card is . . . Nick Schmidt.

Here’s Nick’s winning entry:

An applicant walked into the office at 4:45 p.m. and announced, “I’m here for my interview.”  When he was reminded that his interview had been at 10:00 a.m., he responded, “Yeah, I know, I just woke up. I overslept.”  The HR person decided to give him a second chance and rescheduled the interview.  This time, the candidate was on time but just as the interview began, the candidate said that he had a problem.  The exchange went something like this:

HR Person:  ”What’s the problem?”
Applicant:  “I locked my keys in the car.”
HR Person:  ”Can’t it wait ’til after the interview?”
Applicant:  “Not really. The car is running.”
