What this means for employers. If your employees suddenly stop wearing pants and socks and instead start wearing intimate apparel and tiaras, smiling excessively, exhibiting exemplary posture, showing undue respect to chickens, saving rhinos, hugging cats, spouting limericks, honoring Whistler’s mother, appreciating root canals, flattening lumpy rugs, tap dancing in their cubicles, taking pride in their nerdishness, playing the tuba, welcoming returning slugs, joining hands with people from non-self-governing territories, being generally mesmerized and/or ingesting inordinate amounts of eggs, vinegar, barbecue, nutty fudge, chocolate chips, pizza, taffy and sea monkeys, now you know why.

We have a winner in our Spot the Made-up Holiday Contest. Alert reader Aimee Lokitz correctly identified International Raise Money for Needy Lawyers Day as the fake entry. We will sende Aimee a fabulous prize in recognition of her efforts.
Also, special thanks to Carrie Wyatt who notified me that I had Mother’s Day listed on the wrong day. We will send Carrie TWO fabulous prizes for helping me avoid getting beaten up by my mom.

I’m Dr Chris Kammer and I founded Root Canal Appreciation Day to try and hit a home run for the image of the much maligned root canal that has no voice of its own but saves 37 million teeth every year! Time to give props for the simple procedure that keeps people healthy and productive at work and helps us keep our teeth allowing us to have beautifulk smiles. Modern root canal treatment is comfortable and quick! The pain associated with it usually comes from the previously infected tooth (caused by a cavity or trauma) and the root canal treatment helps clear that up and restores comfort. Happy Root Canal Appreciation day to all!
