Mandatory Employment Law Training Tonight

Tonight is the season premiere of NBC’s The Office.

As I’ve stated many times before, in my humble opinion The Office is the world’s greatest employment law training aid.  All you have to do is (1) watch it and (2) do the exact opposite of everything you see.

The cast includes representatives of virtually every position you’d expect to see in a real company — Management, HR, Accounting, Sales, IT — with one notable exception:  a lawyer there to spoil all the fun.

That’s my specialty.

Starting tomorrow, I’ll post a weekly review of each new episode detailing exactly what I would tell Dunder Mifflin if I were its lawyer.

Given the anticipated volume of violations, I can’t possibly do this alone.  Anyone who sends an e-mail to blawg@manpower.com pointing out a potential employment law violation will get a fabulous prize.

As always, thanks for your participation!
